“Minister Ratanlal Nath held a press conference at the BJP state office regarding the allocation of funds for ADC. But if he had said these words in the assembly, he would have fallen into the trap of law”
Leader of the Opposition of Tripura Legislative Assembly Animesh Debbarma said this on Friday in reference to Minister Ratanlal Nath.
After the budget session for the fiscal year 2023-24 was presented on July 7, Animesh Debbarma, of the main opposition party in the state, TIPRA Motha claimed that only 2.7 percent of the budget has been allocated for the ADC.
Then on July 19, sitting at the state BJP office, the minister Ratan Lal Nath held a press conference and claimed that the government has kept 39.81 percent of the money in the budget for 31 percent tribal.
The minister also told that after the Bharatiya Janata Party government was formed in 2018, 38.40 percent of the money was allocated to the tribal. But why did the members of the ruling party not open their mouths when the opposition raised this issue in the assembly?
On this basis, he further said that the minister claimed that additional money had been allocated for the tribal. Tipra Motha never wants that. Because if additional money is allocated, it will be allocated from general category and OBC and SC category. And those categories of people will be deprived.
“Tipra Motha’s demand is to allocate 31 percent of the money to 31 percent of the state’s tribals” said Animesh.
He also said that according to the calculation of Tipra Motha only 2. 7 percent i.e. Rs 672 crore 64 lakh 30 thousand has been allocated from Rs 27,654 crore 40 thousand for TTAADC. So if Minister Ratan Lal Nath answered directly to the opposition in the assembly without holding a press conference, in BJP Party Office it would have been recorded that day. And if anyone asked question on this issue, Nath would have fallen into the trap of the law.
” So sitting in the party office anything can be said” Animesh Debvarma mentioned in the press conference.
Animesh Debvarma said that the government has deprived ADC in the budget of 2023-24 fiscal year. They do not give any importance to the development of the tribal. It is necessary to investigate this.
He expressed the opinion that the tribal who are suffering from various problems including drinking water and electricity will come out in the form of a white paper.
