BJP To Support: Pradyot To Contest Lok Sabha Poll From East Tripura Constituency? Report

TIPRA Moths supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman may contest Lok Sabha Election from East Agartala constituency and BJP to support him.

According to the media report a senior BJP leader from Tripura said, “The Northeast has a total of 25 Lok Sabha seats and the BJP will aim for a clean sweep of all seats, which should not be difficult, given the power profile in the northeastern states and the support of allies”.

Report mentioned tht as per the decision taken by the central BJP leaders in consultation with Assam Chief Minister and NEDA chief Himanta Biswa Sarma, the tribal reserve East Tripura seat may be allotted to ‘Tipra Motha’, whose candidate would be Motha Supremo Pradyot Kishore.

The current BJP MP from East Tripura, Rebati Tripura, will be given the organizational responsibility and Pradyot Kishore will be the original candidate.

“No formal decision has been taken in this regard but the matter will be finalized soon” report said quoting senior BJP leader.

Things are moving in the right direction as desired by the BJP central leadership, as proved by the abstention of 13 ‘Tipra Motha’ MLAs from voting in the election for the post of Speaker in Tripura Assembly.

Taking advantage of the absence of the ‘Motha’ MLAs, BJP candidate Bishwabandhu Sen won the election easily after Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured Pradyot Kishor over phone of an early appointment of an interlocutor.

“This relation between Tipra Motha’ and BJP will be further strengthened through an understanding for the Lok Sabha elections and for its part the central and state BJP will address all the grievances and demands of ‘Motha’ for tribal development” mentioned in media report quoting BJP source.
