BSF To Take Up The Issue Of Border Fencing In Tripura with Border Guard Bangladesh

 In the wake of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) opposing the border fencing works in some areas in southern Tripura, Border Security Force BSF will take up the matter with the top brass of BGB, a senior official said. “BGB opposed the construction of fencing in some areas in Sabroom along the India-Bangladesh border early this week. Public works department of the state government is carrying out the fencing work,” a senior official in the state government who does not want to be named told.’ He added that efforts are on to resolve the issue. A commandant-level talk was held on Wednesday. “By and large the border is fenced only in some areas fencing work is on,” he added. Tripura shares an 856 km border with Bangladesh.Assam also shares a border with Bangladesh. Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday said that, “We have sealed the porous Indo-Bangladesh and technological solution is used to ensure that there cannot be illegal infiltration.”
