Tipra Motha party has finally clarified its position in the by-elections of Boxanagar and Dhanpur constituencies.
Addressing a press conference at the Agartala Press Club on Friday, Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma said that the by-election is not important for the Tipra Motha party.
“The mission of the Tipra Motha party is Greater Tipra Land. There is no question of supporting CPIM candidates in Dhanpur and Boxanagar by-polls. Because they are candidates of CPIM party” he said.
“If there was a coalition candidate, it was a different matter. The activists and supporters of Tipra Motha from Boxanagar and Dhanpur will vote according to their preferred candidate. No decision will be imposed by the party on party workers and supporters to vote for a particular party candidate. Tipra Motha is not a main contender in Boxanagar and Dhanpur in the 2023 assembly elections. But many complaints have been made against the Tipra Motha party. Some say Lal Motha, others say broker of BJP . But this time the fight is between CPIM and BJP” said Animesh.
Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma said that not fielding a candidate in the by-elections is a worthy response to the allegations raised against the Tipra Motha party.
