Challenges Before Congress And Opposition

At present, political squabbles are cooking for two elections. The handi has also risen on the stove. On the one hand, the handi of the political slang of opposition unity for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is on the stove, and on the other hand, the organization election of the oldest party Congress is on the stove.

Within the last 24 hours, political developments in Haryana, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir have triggered a period of internal crisis before opposition unity.

In such a situation, the taste of political khichdi is going to change or rather deteriorate. The BJP is buoyed by the developments.

The oldest party, the Congress organization, seems to be getting confused about the election. The party claims that it is an advocate of democracy, so instead of imposing someone from the Gandhi family, it is on the threshold of elections for the fourth time.

Ashok Gehlot was almost certain to become the Congress President after Rahul Gandhi said no, but the developments on Sunday regarding the claim of Chief Minister in Rajasthan have not only made the Congress grit, but the high command has increased the headache.

This may be an internal crisis of the Congress, but the party is facing all this at a time when Rahul Gandhi is working hard to connect the marginalized party with the masses through Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Rahul Gandhi wants to give a big message by distance himself from the chair of the post of National President in Congress, but due to the political crisis in Rajasthan, the message of factionalism of Congress seems to be overshadowing his message.

While Shashi Tharoor is contesting against Gehlot for the Congress President’s election, there has been a rhetoric on behalf of the G23 faction regarding the election in the party.

When all this is happening in Rajasthan, on the other hand Ghulam Nabi Azad, who broke away from Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, announced his party Democratic Azad Party.

He also parted from the Congress during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, while on the other hand, Captain Amarinder of Punjab, who was separated from the Congress, also became completely of the BJP during this period. The Congress is getting tarnished because of these recent crises.

Especially when the assembly elections are proposed in Rajasthan next year itself. In such a situation, even if the Congress in Rajasthan recovers from the latest crisis, there will be a danger of affecting the performance of the party in the proposed Rajasthan assembly elections and then in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

While the Congress has been tarnished by the developments in Rajasthan, the difference between the Congress and the BJP is clearly visible. BJP changed CM like Vijay Rupani in Gujarat, Yediyurappa in Karnataka, Sarbananda Sonowal in Assam and Trivendra Rawat, Tirath Singh in Uttarakhand. The contradictions of the party did not come out in the open like the Congress.

Everyone in the BJP took the decision of the high command right in the head with a full heart. Moreover, the BJP took advantage of changing the face of the CM in the election states.

Uttarakhand is an example of this. Obviously, the development in Rajasthan is a disaster for the Congress, while for the BJP it creates an opportunity for assembly and public elections.

On the pretext of tribute to Devilal, even 10 did not show the power of Khichdi, which was being cooked in the pot of opposition solidarity.

Although there was an invitation to mobilize veterans of 17 parties, but only 7 could mobilize. Congress remained on edge.

Regional parties like Trinamool Congress, TRS, DMK, BSP, SP, BJD did not become a part of this khichdi.

Veterans like Farooq Abdullah, Akhilesh, Mamta, Kejriwal, Rao, Deve Gowda, Naveen Patnaik, Satpal Malik did not attend despite the invitation.

Akhilesh’s displeasure can also be gauged from the fact that when the discussion of Nitish Kumar contesting from Phulpur arose, the SP chief’s reaction was – at least he would have discussed it.

Nitish Kumar wants Congress to be the axis of opposition unity and this is the reason why Lalu-Nitish also met Sonia on Sunday, but during this meeting with Congress, which is embroiled in the national president’s election and political crisis of Rajasthan, there was no solution at the moment.
Congress will be able to move forward in this direction only after the organization elections and the Rajasthan crisis is dealt with.
On the other hand, many regional satraps in favor of opposition unity are in no mood to give much value to the Congress.

Congress itself seems to be more responsible for this situation. Obviously, the flavor of Khichdi, which is being cooked in the pot of opposition solidarity, seems to be changing at the moment.

. In such a situation, while the challenge before the Congress have to convert the different voices rising within the party into one voice, while for the sake of opposition unity, the challenge of converting the different voices of the rest of the regional satraps is also a challenge.
