Chhat Puja is one of the major festivals across India. Chhat Puja is celebrated for 4 days in the whole country. The main focus of Chhat Puja is Sun God and Chhat Mata. It can be said that another festival of Surya Bandana is called Chhat Puja. Women fast about 3 days for the happiness and prosperity of the family and the welfare of their children. This puja is also known as Surya Shasthi.

Generally, Chhat Puja is celebrated with great fanfare in large areas of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
However, this worship is also practiced in the state of Tripura. On Sunday afternoon, Chhat Puja was organized in Rani Pukur area of the capital Agartala . Both men and women participate in this puja.
