Police of Bilonia police station managed to seize a large amount of clothes stored in an abandoned house for smuggling to Bangladesh.
It is known that based on secret information, the police seized a large amount of clothes from an abandoned house in Krishnanagar area of Hrishyamukh.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Abhijit Das said, these cloth were stored in an abandoned house some distance from Krishnanagar market. Although the police could not arrest anyone in this regard.
The clothes are believed to have been brought to Bangladesh for smuggling purposes. Sub-divisional police officials told reporters that the estimated market value of the recovered clothes is Rs 4 lakh.
Although it was possible to recover the clothes from the same abandoned house, the police have not yet caught anyone in this incident.
However, police efforts are continuing to nab the gang. It should be noted that clothes and other daily necessities and drugs are being smuggled into Bangladesh on the international border route.
Opinion have been expressed from various section that such trafficking continues due to lack of BSF surveillance.
The police have received a case in this regard and are continuing the investigation of the incident, said the Sub-Divisional Police Officer.
