Cold-Wave Grips The State

The cold and North-Westerly winds from the west have started to grip the entire state to be reeled under a cold wave to enjoy the luxury of winter, biting a wide range of sweet pies on Makar Shankranti amid a sharp drop in temperature. The winter is showing its teeth. The meteorological observatory which provides representative data for Agartala city recorded a minimum of 13.4 degree Celsius and a maximum of 23.7 degree Celsius in last 24 hours. Cold wave may continue to prevail for next few days and night temperature is likely to fall by 2-3 degree Celsius across the state, predicts MID department Agartala. Fog/mist weather is predicted in isolated pockets in Tripura. Weather is most likely to remain dry. The city’s 24 hour average air quality index is 142.
