Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday termed the collegium issue as a ‘mind game’ and said that he will not talk about it.
He made the remarks when asked about various recommendations of the Supreme Court collegium pending before the government, including those related to the appointment of high court chief justices.
The Union Law Minister said, “The issue of the collegium is completely a mind game. I am not going to talk about it.”
Rijiju was speaking on the sidelines of an event organized to dedicate 254 mobile towers for 4G services to Arunachal Pradesh.
He said that the lack of basic facilities in the border areas is a major issue for the local people. Kiren Rijiju and Tapir Gao represent Arunachal Pradesh in the Lok Sabha.
Rijiju has been very vocal against the collegium system and once even called it ‘alien’ (unfamiliar) to our constitution.
Explain that 4G mobile internet service will be started in about 336 border villages of Arunachal Pradesh. For this, the government commissioned 254 mobile network towers here on Saturday.
The government has approved a project to set up 2,605 mobile 4G towers in over 3,721 villages of Arunachal Pradesh for Rs 2,675 crore.
