During the winter session of the Parliament, the Congress will sit on dharna with the tribal at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. If Tipra Motha merges with Congress, the movement will be more intense. For this, MLA Sudip Roy Barman appealed to Motha Supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.
“The National Congress leadership made Pradyot Kishore Debbarman the State Congress President and All India Congress Secretary. Congress has recognized the royal family. That is why Pradyot Kishore Debbarman is still considered as a member of the Congress family” said Sudip Roy Barman.
Speaking in a joining program held at Pradesh Congress Bhavan premises he also urged Motha to join the Congress without delay.
He addressed Pradyot Kishore Debbarman from the stage and said, come and lead the Congress. Pradyot Kishore Debbarman took over as president.
He said Congress wants to develop the tribal of the state like in the past. All developments including food forest rights have been given by Congress. The BJP government is claiming that it has changed the name of the projects given by the Congress. This is how Sudip Roy Barman criticized.
He also said that Congress is the only way to survive, Congress is the only party to fight against dictatorship, Congress is the name of love and Congress is another name of democracy. So the tribals have belatedly started to realize that the Congress has to be strengthened. But the current opposition political parties in the state could not come to power despite getting 60 percent votes in the last assembly elections. People are speechless.
This is the first time any political party has come to power with such a low percentage of votes in this state. And various political parties have raised various absurd slogans to exploit the sentiments of the tribal.
Sudip Roy Barman said that 7423 voters from 1473 families joined in the camp. Several leaders, including former minister Manindra Riang, joined the Congress on that day. Those who joined the Congress came spontaneously, said Sudip Roy Barman.
Nobody was pressured to come to Congress. It is significant to join the Congress despite having no power in the hands of the Congress including the Assembly, ADC. A dozen regional parties emerged in the state. Various political parties were and are in power. But they are not really friends of the tribals. Their fight is only against each other. And the BJP is conspiring to fight against each other by creating divisions among the people belonging to the 19 tribal communities of the state. Be careful for this. In 2014, the Congress government at the Center initiated the 125th constitutional amendment for the people of the tribal section of the state, but was unable to implement it due to its ouster.
Without mentioning the name of Tipra Motha, he said that some political party is maintaining contact with the BJP government at the center to fulfill their demands. Congress supports ADC’s demand for direct allocation of funds. But the current state government’s proposal to the central government nowhere mentions direct allocation of funds to ADC.
