Congress President Post Election: Rahul Gandhi Supported ‘One Man, One Post’, Hints To CM Ashok Gehlot

Rahul Gandhi, who is on the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra‘ amidst the hustle and bustle of the election for the post of President, supported ‘One Man, One Post’ in the Congress on Thursday.

This is an indication that Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, who is leading the race for the post of Congress President, cannot get two posts to play a dual role.

Earlier, Gehlot had indicated that he could continue on both the posts of CM and President of Rajasthan.

“We have made a commitment in Udaipur, I hope it will be maintained,” Rahul Gandhi said at a press briefing in Kerala.

While advising the candidates for the post , he said that the post of Congress President is an ideological post inindia’s point of view. He further said that my position on the post of President is clear.

Ashok Gehlot, 71, is considered the Gandhi family’s choice for Congress president, but he does not want to give up his chief ministerial role in Rajasthan.

If he does so, he thinks he will be replaced by Sachin Pilot, whose revolt led to his government almost falling apart in 2020.

The Congress adopted the “one man, one post” rule earlier this year in Rajasthan’s Udaipur, where internal reforms and elections were discussed in a three-day meeting.

These words of Rahul Gandhi came as a blow to Gehlot, who was constantly indicating that he could hold two positions. He also met Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday.

About the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said that its goal is to reduce hatred and violence. The poverty-rich gap has widened immensely. We have a zero tolerance policy on violence and communalism. This journey is not mine but people’s, I have only become a part of this journey.

Meanwhile according to the report, Sachin Pilot can be made the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
