Once again Assam police of Churaibari watch post seized a large quantity of drug capsules before entering in Tripura.
It is learned that on Monday night, October 30, a six-wheeler lorry loaded with fruits was on its way from Guwahati to Agartala came to the Churaibari watch post and the lorry got stuck during a routine police check.
Assam Police searched the lorry on Tuesday morning and recovered a total of 46 thousand 80 Spasmo Proxivon Plus narcotic capsules in 320 packets from behind the fruit cartoon inside the lorry.
Police arrested the lorry driver Suman Das (38), who is said to be from Khowai district of Tripura. The estimated black market value of recovered drug paraphernalia is reported to be Rs 23 lakh.
After interrogating the accused, the Assam police came to know that these capsules were being taken to Agartala for smuggling to Bangladesh.
These narcotic capsules are in demand in the market of Bangladesh including Tripura. In this incident, the Assam Police has taken up a case on its own under the relevant section and started investigating the incident.
