Police arrested a driver with contraband drug Yaba tablets worth Rs 4.5 Cr on Saturday.
According to the details of the incident, based on a secret source, the police of Bagbasa police station under North Tripura District started search operation stopping the vehicles on road.
Later, a lorry No. NL 01 L 7109 was loaded with cement searched by the police and Nine and a half thousand Yaba tablets were seized from the Lori’s secret chamber.
The value of which is more than Rs four and a half crore , said North District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty.
Lorry driver Debbrata Dey has been arrested and questioned by the police. He is from Udaipur in Gomati district.
The North Tripura District Police has started joint investigation in the case under the NDPS section.
