Contraband Worth Rs 5.89 Cr Seized By Police In Last One Month In Poll Bound Tripura

Contraband worth Rs 5.89 crore and a number of small arms have been seized by police in Tripura

 in the past one month.


The security forces also seized two countrymade guns, a 7.65mm pistol, 46 ammunition from separate locations and recovered 17 lakh in Indian currency, 14,257 Bangladesh currency,

a press release issued by police on Wednesday said.

Among the seized contraband were 11.161kg of cannabis, 138gm of heroin, 12,945 Yaba tablets, 9,600 bottles of cough syrups, 3,850 bottles of India-Made Foreign Liquor, 25,050 litres of countrymade liquor, it added.

To maintain law and order, special enforcements have been continued in view of the assembly polls, the press communique said. A month ago, 100 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces were deployed to ensure extensive security coverage.
