Class 5 to 8 will be promoted provisionally. For class 9 and 11 there need a mark sheet and department has taken step in this matter. After opening the schools there will be a evaluation in every class”. ” Books for the new classes already reached in the schools. Students can collect the books from their respective schools” added Ratan Nath. Meanwhile Tripura government is laying emphasis on regulating the fees of private schools that have been purportedly charging hefty amounts despite the fact that no activities are taking place due to the Covid 19 induced curbs. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath held a crucial meeting in presence of the authorities of 17 elite schools located in and around the city. Speaking on the issue, Nath said, “we have participated in a healthy discussion regarding the school fees. There are several kinds of fees such as tuition fee, cultural fee and fees for transportation. We have appealed to the authorities of all the schools to waive at least 60 percent of the transport fee. Since the buses are not ferrying children, the schools must give that much relief to the parents”.
“Apart from that”, he said, “schools have expressed their views and as to what initiatives they have already taken. We have suggested the schools not charge fees of extracurricular activities that are closed for the time being. In addition,we have also requested cooperation from the private schools for our goal to reach the top of all the parameters in the education sector”. However, the schools are supposed to submit a written report on their special activities during the Corona crisis and their initiatives to combat the infection as well as measures to relief fees. On the Board exams, Nath said, final call is yet to be taken. “The schools that come under the TBSE, we have informed them that after the June 14 meeting they will be communicated the decisions”.
