The number of single-day COVID-19 recoveries surpassed national average in Tripura by a wide margin as on Tuesday morning, with near about 94 percent people recuperating from the disease, where national average is close to 90 percent. 55 more tested positive for the infection, pushing the tally to 30,317 in last 24 hours as on tuesday morning, a senior official said.
Tripura currently has 1,793 active coronavirus cases, while 342 people have succumbed to the infection. A total of 28,152 people have recovered from the viral disease.
West Tripura district, of which state capital Agartala is a part, has accounted for 178 of the 340 COVID-19 deaths, the health department official said.
Twenty-three patients have migrated to other states.
As many as 4,49,202 samples have been examined for COVID-19 in the northeastern state so far, the official added. PTI
