Covid19 Vaccination From Jan 16 In Tripura Also

If everything falls in right place, Covid vaccination drive would be commencing in the state along with rest of the country on January 16 next, sources with the knowledge of the development confirmed here today. As part of the preparation, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Goube yesterday held a virtual meeting with the Chief Secretaries of the states. In the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary informed Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar about guidelines for the Covid vaccination drive. Goube said Covid vaccine would be sent to the state by air and they must be stored in the state level storage facilities. From state level storage facilities, the vaccine will be sent to the district level. Vaccine does will be sent to the panchayats and ward of Municipal bodies from the district level. Mission Director of NHM, Tripura Dr. Siddartha Jaiswal briefed the Cabinet Secretary about the state’s preparedness for the Covid vaccination drive. “In Tripura, a total of 45,420 names of frontline Covid warriors have been selected and uploaded in the portal. As many as 2229 session sites have already been identified for carrying out the vaccination drive. For the first phase, altogether 152 spots have been identified. Each vaccination team will have six members”, he said.
Dr. Jaiswal said the state has already created storage facilities- cold chain space for 15 vaccine doses while vaccine does could be stored in the district facilities too. “Steps have been taken to get ready the facilities at the district level¬† by January 15”, he said.
In the meeting, the Secretary of Health & Family Welfare requested the Cabinet Secretary to send eight refrigerated vans to the state to build up facilities at the district level. The vaccine doses will be airlifted from Kolkata’s regional medical store.
