The CPI(M) has demanded that Kanchanjungha Express train must stop at Bilonia railway station, the announced Agartala-Sabroom special demo train should be operational immediately, all long-distance trains including Deoghar Express must be reach to Sabroom railway station.
The party leadership placed deputation to the officer-in-charge at Bilonia railway station on Sunday.
The Bilonia CPIM sub-committee has sent a memorandum to the North-East Frontier Railway official and regional manager through him.
The Ministry of Railways announced that Kanchanjungha Express will start journey from Sabroom instead of Agartala railway station on September 7. The stoppage of this long distance train announced only at Udaipur and Agartala stations.
The stoppage was not announced in Bilonia, the district headquarters of South Tripura. Bilonia is the highest commercial railway station after Agartala.
Besides, the survey work of the Indian part has already been completed for the rail connection of Bangladesh with Bilonia station. The rest of the work will start after getting the green signal from the railway department
Demonstrations were staged in front of the Sabroom-Agartala demo train by CPIM on Sunday, when it halted at Bilonia station demanding stoppage of Kanchanjungha Express train at Bilonia railway station and other demands.
CPIM leader Tapas Dutta said, these demands are for everyone. If the demands are not met immediately, a bigger movement will be formed in the coming days.
