Yechury also told that forces like RSS want to bring the country towards the darkness of the past by changing its history, culture, education policy to give it a Hindu identity instead of an inclusive cultural identity of the country. Meanwhile the Communist Party of India (Marxist) politburo member Manik Sarkar has urged the party workers in Tripura to hit the roads and stand in solidarity with people who are struggling to meet their ends due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Sarkar further stressed on fighting with Communist ideology and to restore democracy by defeating the communal forces in the country.
