Winter season farm and ‘Aman Rice’ farmers of Tripura are severely effected due to rain. According to weather department Fairly widespread rain with isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected over Northeast India this weekend as a cyclonic circulation is located over east central of Bay of Bengal. This system gradually moves northeastward, but it is predicted to stagnate over northwest of Bay of Bengal for a while. Therefore, rain activity is expected to prolong over Northeast India. Two cyclonic circulations stagnate over west of Kerala and east of Tamil Nadu. These systems and induced northeast moist-laden winds trigger scattered rain and thunderstorms over southern peninsula of India for the next couple of days, forecasts weather department. Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, shows weather forecast. “The rain will have an impact on winter sowing as usually rabi crop is sustained from the profits made by selling kharif crop, most of which has been mostly effected by the rain,” said Ratan Shill, a farmer from Teliamura.
