The dead body of an unidentified person was recovered from the drain near the Chief Minister’s residence in Sri Krishna Mandir, Agartala. Age approx 60 to 62 years.
According to the source of the incident, around noon on Monday, public found the body of a person partially visible in the drain on the side of the road.
The police of East Agartala police station was immediately informed. The police came and recovered the body and sent it to GBP Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
The police have taken up a case of unusual death and started investigating the incident.
It is known that there was no injury on the body of the deceased but a rope was found.
However, despite the strict security measures in the area, questions are being raised among the locals about how and when this incident took place.
There was a lot of tension among the locals. Police believe that the cause of death will be clear after postmortem.
