Dead body of an elderly woman has been recovered from a pond in Mui Ching Bari area of Ward no 4 of Rasraj Nagar ADC village under Padambil block, Khowai District on Monday morning.
Rathin Debbarma, OC of Baijal Bari Police Out Post reached the spot after getting information of the incident.
The woman’s age is approximately seventy, police said. The deceased yet to be identified. Local people informed police after seeing the dead body floating in the water of local Chittaranjan Debbarma’s pond.
‘According to our primary investigation the deceased was mentally disbalance’ said police.
Later police recovered the dead body from water of the pond and took it to the Khowai District Hospital morgue for autopsy.
