On Wednesday 10323 Joint Movement Committee, JMC meets with Secretary Education Government of Tripura, Soumya Gupta. A six members delegates of JMC meets Soumya Gupta at civil Secretariat here at agartala. They also submits a memorandum regarding demands and clarification. The next meet has been scheduled on January 16 as there is no break through. “If on January 16 department can’t clarify regarding our queries and demands we are going to organize Mahakaran Abhiyan on January 18″ Said JMC. Notable that thousands of Tripura government school teachers, who had lost their jobs following court verdicts, are braving cold weather to carry on with their indefinite sit-in, which entered its 38th day on Wednesday, while the state government is yet to hold any talks with them. Of the 10,323 retrenched government teachers, 81 of them died from various reasons including illness and three of them, including a woman, have committed suicide since Wednesday. Small kids, children and family elders of the agitating teachers occasionally took part in the agitation, spearheaded by the Joint Movement Committee (JMC).
