Senior JUIF leader Hafiz Hamdullah while talking to Pakistani news channel has appealed to the government to ensure emergency medical measures for the injured.
Geo News quoted the District Emergency Officer as saying that a local JUI-F leader was also among those killed in the blast at the workers’ conference in Khar, Bajaur.
The deceased leader has been identified as Ziaullah Jan. The official said that the injured are being sent to Timargara and Peshawar for treatment.
According to the report, the police have not yet confirmed how the explosion took place. The police is still investigating the matter.
The blast reportedly took place inside the conference and law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area.
Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Faizi has told Geo News that with the help of 5 ambulances, about 150 injured people have been taken to the hospital so far.
