Air India launches its first non-stop flight between New Delhi and Agartala from Saturday. This will be the third direct flight between Delhi and a city in the northeast. At present, Guwahati and Imphal have direct flights from the national capital. The flight between Delhi and Agartala routes will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The 146-seated airbus will depart from Delhi at 5.35 am and reach Agartala at 8.30 am. The same flight will fly back from Agartala at 9.30 am and land in Delhi at 12.20 pm. Notable that, IndiGo has been operating a daily direct flight along the route besides five connecting fleets. The 180-seated daily IndiGo airbus departs from Delhi at 12.10 pm and reaches Agartala at 2.40 pm. It again departs from Agartala at 3.20 pm and lands in Delhi at 6.10 pm. Since resumption of flights after services were suspended due to the pandemic, only Air India and IndiGo have been operating 16 flights in Tripura, connecting Agartala with Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangaluru and all other major cities of the country.
