Dewali Festival, Fair To Be Telecast ‘Live’ From Tripureshwari Temple, Matabari

Good news for the residents of Tripura. Now the residents of that state can watch the Puja of Tripurasundari temple sitting at home.

This is the first time Tripurasundari temple pujas and Diwali fairs are being shown ‘live’ across the state.

This temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths . Sati’s right big toe is said to have fallen here. Tripureshwari temple at Udaipur Matarbari in Gomati district is the main center of attraction on Diwali in Tripura state. This temple is also known as Matabari or Tripurasundari temple.

MLA of Matabari Legislative Assembly, Pranajit Sinngh Roy said that like every year, Tripurasundari temple is decorated with garlands of lights. However, Diwali will be a little different this year.

He said, ‘This is the first time that ‘live streaming’ of the fair and puja will be done here. It is all organized by the government of Tripura. Big screens have been installed for this.’

MLA of Matabari constituency said that this year’s fair will be for three days. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha will inaugurate this fair. Animesh Devarai said, ‘Our hope is that about 9 lakh people and devotees will come to the fair this year.

The entire temple is also decorated with flowers on the occasion of Diwali and Kali Puja. 

According to the temple committee and Tripura government sources, the state government is providing 16 stalls in this fair. Various developmental works of the state government will be highlighted in those stalls. There will be around 600 stalls in the fair. Various items and handicrafts of Tripura will be sold in those stalls and shops. The MLA also said that there will be various cultural and musical programs and fireworks in this fair.
