An allegation has been erupted against the SI of Dharmanagar police station for releasing a car loaded with Burmese betel nuts that was seized without informing the customs.

According to the media report SI Pritimoy Chakma released the vehicle without informing anyone and without taking any legal action.

According to the details of the incident, the local residents saw the vehicle loaded with betel nut standing in the Rajbari area of ​​Dharmanagar and informed the police.

The police brought the car to the police station and after searching, the banned Burmese betel nut recovered from the car.

At night, the police said that the car will be seized in the morning with a case. The information was also given to the custom. But surprisingly, the police changed their words in the morning.

On the other hand, SI Prittimoy Chakma allegedly showed bloodshot eyes to news reporters. At one time SI did not hear anything from anyone, he immediately called the car driver and asked him to leave the police station with the car.

After the vehicle left the police station, Prittimoy called the reporters and told that SDPO i.e. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Debashish Saha had ordered to release the vehicle.

Debashish Saha said on the phone that these Burmese betel nuts are not Burmese betel nuts, they are local betel nuts.

Journalists went to the SDPO, but Debashish Saha could not be found. He could not be contacted over phone.

District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty will investigate the matter after the incident comes to light, it is expected.
