The rape victim’s mother filed a complaint against Imam Rahamuddin of Shakaibari Mosque at the Women police station of Dharmanagar on Saturday night.
According to the details of the incident, accused Imam Raham Uddin is from Shakaibari Mosque in Dharmanagar under North Tripura District , and a resident of auction market of Barak Valley in the neighboring state of Assam.
He allegedly indulged in a relationship with a minor girl of Ward No. 2 of Algapur Gram Panchayat.
He developed relationship for a year and a half and promised to marry her.
The victim’s mother claimed that they had a physical relationship for the past three months.
The victim’s mother caught red handed the Imam during the sexual intercourse on Saturday.
Seeing the dire situation, Imam Raham Uddin ran away from there. The accused’s mother filed a case at Dharmanagar Women Police Station on Saturday night alleging physical abuse and rape of her daughter for a long time.
According to the report the accused imam first time raped the minor girl on September 6 when she went to him to study Quran.
The accused Imam took video of the incident and started to blackmail her.
Accordingly the accused Imam repeatedly raped the girl on October 26 & 27.
Meanwhile, the accused Imam is absconding since the incident. When the police of Dharmanagar police station and the police of Nilambazar police station of Assam were informed, the police came and started searching , but the accused is yet to trace as the last report came in.
