Local women have blocked the road in the center of the Ambasa-Marachra road demanding to solve the long-standing problem of drinking water.
According to the local people, they have been suffering from drinking water shortage since from last one month.
The situation become worse in last fifteen days.
Even after approaching the administration several times, no solution has been done.
“They give us nothing but assurance. The crisis has intensified with the onset of the dry season” said the blockaders.
So on Tuesday , they blocked the Ambasa-Marachra road.
After receiving the information , the police of Ambasa police station rushed to the blockade site with a large force.
The Deputy Magistrate went to the spot on behalf of the Sub-Divisional Administration.
He assured the blockaders that drinking water problem would be resolved within 7 days.
Based on his assurance, the women withdrew the road blockade.
However, if the problem is not resolved within 5 days, they will launch a larger movement and will block the Express train, warned the local residents.
