Drug Dealers, Rohingyas Using Rail Service: Tripura CM Manik Saha

Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) has been inaugurated by Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha at Bilonia.

Chief Minister said passenger safety is important to the state government. This railway police station is inaugurated for the safety of the passengers.

On the other hand, he stressed that the police and the public should be aware of drug traffickers and smugglers in rail service. It is one of the duties and responsibilities of the state government to deal with crime in various railway stations of the state, rail travel with drugs, on the other hand to protect the railway passengers.

“And keeping this in mind, five railway police stations are already inaugurated in the state. Bilonia is the sixth railway police station. There are cases of illegal immigration including Rohingyas from Bangladesh. Their easy and illegal transportation is rail. GRPS must conduct operations against illegal trespassers and drug dealers. On the other hand, the safety of the railway passengers must be monitored” the Chief Minister said.

“many express trains are running in the state. Will increase in future. Apart from passenger rail, goods rail is also coming to the state. The GRPS must play a role in countering the smuggling of illegal narcotics through the goods transport rail. The state government has aimed to make the state a drug-free state. With the cooperation of all, the state government has been working against it” the Chief Minister said.

CM held a meeting with the Government Railway Police Station authorities after the inauguration at Bilonia Railway Police Station.

He directed that there should be no lack in the protection of passengers. Strict action should be taken against drug dealing and illegal drugs.
