Meanwhile, the police has discovered a new trend. Based on information from secret sources, the police of East Agartala police station seized a car from Mara Chowmuhani.
The vehicle had the name plate of THCL adviser to the government of Tripura.
Deputy Director of Urban Development Department was mentioned on the reverse side of the name plate.
Police arrested two youths from the car, Kanu das of Patunagar and Tapas Karmakar of Shalbagan has been arrested.
24 grams of brown sugar was found with them. The arrestees said that government officials’ name plates were used in the vehicles to avoid police searches during drug smuggling.
“In this way, many more people are smuggling drugs” they claims.
