Durga Puja Carnival To Be Held In Agartala On October 26: CM Manik Saha

“We all participate and rejoice in Sharadotsav. A smooth and peaceful completion of Shardotsav is the greatest joy” Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this in the preparation meeting about Mayer Gaman and Sharadsamman-2023 at Muktdhara Auditorium on Sunday afternoon.

“In the preparatory meeting it is decided that Mayer Gaman or Carnival will be organized in Agartala on October 26. The main event will be held in front of Melarmath City Centre” he said.

In the preparatory meeting, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said that with everyone’s cooperation, it was possible to successfully organize Sharadotsav and Mayer Gaman program in Agartala last year. Agartala Municipal Corporation and Department of Information and Culture successfully organized Durga idol immersion and Mayer Gaman program last year. 

In the preparatory meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officials of the concerned department to repair all the roads of Agartala city before Sharadotsav. 

Addressing the representatives of various clubs and organizations present at the meeting, he said, “This government is made up of all of you. Everyone should follow the various guidelines of the state government for organizing shardotsav and the carnival”


In the beginning of the preparatory meeting, the secretary of the Department of Information and Culture, Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, presented the purpose of the meeting. 

He said that last year, 47 clubs and puja organizations participated in the carnival. Information and Culture Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya highlighted this year’s preparations for the carnival and Sharad Sanman. 

He said that 21 awards were given to various clubs and puja organizations in Sharad Samman last year.
