Durga Puja Festival: Hilsa Reached In Agartala Through Akhaura

Durga Puja, the main festival of Bengali is at the doorstep. In the meantime hilsa of Padma reached in Tripura market to satisfy Bengali taste buds. 

Festive food is not complete without hilsa on the Bengali plate. And if it is Hilsa then it is difficult to find the language to express feelings. 

In this regard, importer Bimal Roy said, for now, Tripura has received permission to import 150 metric tons of hilsa fish from Bangladesh. 

On Friday, only 7 metric tons of fish arrived in the state on the first day. But this time due to low fish production in river Padma, there is doubt about how much hilsa fish will be available in the hands of fish lovers in Tripura, he said.

Hilsa fish has been imported to through Akhaura land port in Agartala. These fish reached in Agartala in three pickups on Friday from 1 am to 3 pm. The price of hilsa per kg is 10 dollars.

Several more hilsa consignments are scheduled to reach in Agartala through Akhaura this week.
