Ensure sufficient ambulance for covid patients: Supreme Court directs States

Supreme Court on friday directs that states are bound by advisory issued by Centre to deal with the pandemic and all state governments must ensure that sufficient number of ambulances are provided in each district to carry Covid patients to hospital. A bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan, was hearing a petition seeking appropriate order and or directions to increase ambulance services to ensure proper service to COVID positive patient cases in the country. Expressing concern over ambulance providers demanding excessive charge for giving service to Covid patients, SC directs states to fix reasonable charge for ambulance services.
