Suspected banned outfit NLFT is behind the 3 NPCC workers’ abduction from Gondachara on Monday morning around 9 am, said police. Naturally question raising on the role of BSF. Despite the security arrangement the ultras abducted three labourers Subhash Bhowmik from southern town of Udaipur, Subal Debnath from Bishalgarh, and Ganapati Tripura from local MK Para area on gun point. Incident happened in between the border pillar 2277-2278 at Biswas BOP under ganganagar police station. During the incident BSF was guarding the area where the laborers were working. Recently a 35-year-old man, Litan Nath has been kidnapped and held captive for ransom in north Tripura. The incident occurred at Joyram Para under the Damcherra police station limits under the Panisagar subdivision before dawn on Saturday, November 27. Police yet to recover the abducted. In the recent time the local media including The Tripura Post has repeatedly reported the rise in terrorist activities in hilly and remote border areas. However police have allegedly not taken steps to curb the cross border terrorist activities. The abduction of the three labourers is being viewed as an escalation of terrorism in Tripura again. According to the analysts the ultras could be planning a nasty terror plot prior to the TTAADC election to throw a tough challenge for the administration.
