The Agartala Municipal Corporation demolished and evicted the illegally built shops on both sides of the road.
The illegally built shops in Battala Bazar area, Joynagar, Sakuntala road area were demolished on Saturday morning.
In this regard, Mayor Dipak Majumdar said that the eviction drive of AMC has started from today as per the previously announcement.
He said that this step has been taken to decongest city Agartala during Durga Puja.
On this day, Mayor Dipak Majumder said that shops have been illegally built on government land on both sides of the road. The illegal occupiers had already been asked several times to demolish or vacate the construction. But many did not pay attention to it. Now till Duga puja the illegally occupied premises will be vacated.
On this day, he also said that if bikes and cars are kept in the areas where there is no parking zone in City Agartala legal action will be taken against the owner by the Municipal Corporation.
