Activists of the Left-backed organisations CITU- Sara Bharat Krishak Sabha– Tripura Khet Majdur Union in Tripura on Monday staged a massive rally to express solidarity towards the farmers, who are protesting at the Delhi border areas since last 17 days. The rally started from Melarmeth and traversed across different parts of Agartala city under banner of All India Kisan Sanghrsh Samiti the AIKSS. Senior CPI-M leader Manik day said, “ Farmers are protesting against the recently passed three farm-bills. The farmers spoke to the Centre, but it was fruitless. The farmer’s organizations have been demanding to roll back the bills.” Notably, in many parts of the Country, people expressing their solidarity towards the farmer movement which is underway at the Delhi-Noida border. Meanwhile, farmers leader Narayan kar said, “The entire world has now understood that a law has been brought which is against the interest of the farmers who provide food to the President, the richest person and also the poorest.” “We demand that the Government must listen to the farmers who produce food for the people of the Country” Said Jitendra Chowdhury of GMP. The farmers are protesting against The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
