The 2023 assembly elections are at the door step. Naturally, the Election Commission has increased its vigilance in Tripura.
A two-member team of the Election Commission has arrived in Tripura to review the preparations for publication of the final voter list and awareness of the exercise of voting rights.
IAS Santosh Ajmera and Ranbir Singh, the two high officials of ECI, are now in the state.
The commission’s team also discussed with the Tripura officials regarding the guidelines of election expenditure.
According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer , Tripura, two officials of the commission have arrived in Tripura on Tuesday. Ever since they arrived in Tripura, they have been meeting periodically on election related issues. They are in marathon meeting on Wednesday as well.
They are scheduled to hold meet in Gomati and South Tripura District.
Sources claim that the final voter list will be published in Tripura on January 5.
The two officers of the commission have come to Tripura to review the preparations for the publication of the voter list. They also learned about the steps taken to raise awareness about the voting rights of the old and new voters.
The commission is looking into ensuring voter participation in elections.
Sources claims that the full bench of the Election Commission will come to Tripura in the first week of January.
