Tripura government to launch Menstrual Hygiene Scheme as it was a state budget scheme Kishori Suchita Abhiyan for providing free sanitary napkins without cost to cover all schools going adolescent girls of class VI to XII from this month onwards. Currently there is total 1,68,252 girls students are there from class VI to XII. The project is currently starting for three years. It will cost Rs 3 crore 61 kakh 63 thousand 248. As the ASHA workers by napkins from NHM at Rs 5 per packet and sell it at Rs 6, government will also purchase napkins from NHM. In an another decision cabinet also decides that School bag not to exceed 1.6 to 2.2 kilos for class 1 to 2 students. 1.7 to 2.5 for class 3 to 5, 3 to 5 kilos for 6 to 8 students and 2.5 to 4 kilos for class 8 students, 2.5 to 4.5 kilos for class 9 to 10 and 3.5 to 5 kilos for class 9 to 12 students.
