Ganja smugglers are using new methods to smuggle the drug. Drug traffickers continue to try to smuggle cannabis out of the state through women and children.
Police arrested a total of 13 people, including women and children, while smuggling ganja.
According to the details of the incident, seven women came to Dharmanagar in the morning train from Agartala on Monday.
After coming to Dharmanagar, they went to ISBT from there to go out of state by road. People reported seven women to Dharmanagar police station for their suspicious loitering.
The women police of Dharmanagar along with ISBT brought those who were loitering suspiciously to Dharmanagar police station for questioning.
They are Dulia Devi (25), Gunjan Devi (25), Parvati Devi (30), Asha Kumari (25), Manupati Devi (35), Rinku Devi (25) and Pinaki Devi (25) all of them are from Bihar state.
They have six children of various ages ranging from one and a half months to three months old.
Dharmanagar police station OC Nadugopal Dey said that when everyone was searched, a total of 12 kg of ganja came out of the body in small quantity.
They are currently kept in Dharmanagar police station. Later appropriate action will be taken against them as per law.
