The Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested three suspects from West Tripura and seized 1,385 kg of Marijuana (Ganja) from their possession.
The BSF official said, a joint operation was launched at the house of a suspect in West Tripura’s Urabari village under Sidhai Police Station following a specific intelligence input, which was received in the early hours of Sunday, indicating the presence of a huge consignment of ganja.
The officer said that one person was caught during the operation.
“During preliminary investigation, it revealed the names of the main ringleader, a resident of West Tripura, and other associates,” said an official statement of BSF.
“A total of 1,385 kg of ganja worth Rs 2,07,75,000 was secretly stashed in their homes where the three Indian nationals (including the kingpin) were apprehended,” the statement said.
