A girl student of class VIII tried to commit suicide by having poison for mobile phone.
The incident took place in Ward No. 7 area of Gram Panchayat of Kalagang Kadamtala under North Tripura District.
Father of the girl student Taj Uddin is a day laborer by profession.
According to the details of the incident, when Taj Uddin went home at the end of the day on Saturday, his daughter Shamima Begum asked her father to give her the mobile phone. But as the father did not give the mobile immediately, Shamima took the weed killer medicine brought to eat inside the house.
After a while she lost consciousness and began to stagger. The family members realized the matter and took hee to the local hospital.
From there, she was brought to North Tripura District Hospital in Dharmanagar at 9:30 pm.
There the doctors washed her stomach and started treating her with saline. The student is currently undergoing treatment.
