“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several important steps to ensure accessible healthcare for all. The current state government is working with utmost importance in the direction of the Prime Minister to expand health services”.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the first Block Public Health Unit of the state at a cost of Rs 22,17,295 in Kalyanpur Community Health Center under Khowai district.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that the opening of this new facility would greatly benefit the common of the area.
On the same day, the chief minister also inaugurated the newly constructed operation theater at Teliamura sub-divisional hospital.
Inaugurating the first block public health unit of the state, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said that the main aim of this service is to provide treatment opportunities to the people at the grass root level. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been working to provide access to health services to the poorest of the poor in the society. In the same direction, ‘Block Public Health Unit’ is now being launched in the state to diagnose diseases and provide quick treatment to the patients. Therefore, the state government has initially planned to set up these units in 18 blocks of the state. Kalyanpur is the first at this stage. Such ‘Block Public Health Units’ will be established in other blocks also.
The Chief Minister said that dental colleges and nursing colleges have already been set up in the state. Apart from this, the state government has also planned to open homeopathy and ayurvedic colleges. Another medical college will be set up at Ambassa under Dhalai district. Keeping in mind the important role of trauma centers in medical services, three level three trauma centers have been set up at Shantirbazar in South District, Udaipur in Gomati District and Ambassa in Dhalai District.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said that a trauma center will be opened in Dharmanagar in North district very soon.
Later, the chief minister inaugurated the new operation theater complex at Teliamura sub-divisional hospital in Khowai district, fulfilling the long-standing demands of the residents.
It is noted that within a few moments of the opening of the operation theater held by the Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha at Teliamura Divisional Hospital, two pregnant mothers from the tribal section took the maternity facility. Both delivered two sons safely through C- section.
An atmosphere of happiness seen in the maternity department of the hospital along with the doctors and health workers associated with this operation.
