The 51st ‘Great Victory Day’ of Bangladesh was celebrated on Friday with the people of Tripura who genuinely supported the great liberation war of Bangladesh.
Arif Mohammad, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office at Agartala, paid tribute by hoisting the national flag of Bangladesh and placing a wreath at the office of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala on Friday morning.
After hoisting the national flag, the prayer was recited at 8:10.
At 9 am, the portrait of the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was wreathed.
Highlighting the contribution of the people of the state on the ‘Great Victory Day’ Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh at Assistant High Commission Office Arif Mohammad said:
“On December 16, 1971, Pakistan surrendered to the allied forces of Bangladesh. As a result, Bangladesh was formed through 23 years of political struggle and 9 months of bloody fighting. Since then Bangladesh celebrates this day as Victory Day every year”

Later a tribute program was organized at Albert Ekka Park in Lichubagan, Agartala.
