An ambulance carrying patients from Unakoti District Hospital met with an accident in Ranir Bazar area on its way to GBP Hospital in Agartala.
The driver along with the patient and his family members is injured. A total of five people are undergoing treatment at GBP Hospital. It is known that the accident happened in the early morning on Saturday.
According to the report a woman was sent from Unkoti District Hospital to Agartala GB Hospital for advanced treatment. The ambulance left Unkoti District Hospital with a total of four people including the patient and his relatives.
In the early morning of Maha Saptami, the ambulance met with an accident while coming to Ranir Bazar area.
Ambulance driver Uttam Kumar Nath said this incident happened around 3 am. The road was not visible due to fog. Because of which this the accident happened.
The ambulance hit a freight truck. A total of five people including the driver Uttam Kumar Nath were injured. One of the injured who brought the patient said that he could not say exactly what caused the accident. He suffered a severe head injury. The condition of the patient is believed to be critical.
After the accident, fire department personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured and brought them to GB Hospital in Agartala. At present GB Hospital is treating them.
