CBI has arrested Videocon founder Venugopal Dhoot in ICICI Bank loan fraud.
A CBI court on Monday sent former ICICI Bank CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon Group founder Venugopal Dhoot to CBI custody till December 28 in a loan fraud case.
Kochhar was arrested by the probe agency after brief questioning on Friday night.
Dhoot, 71, was arrested on Monday morning. All three were produced before special court judge AS Sayyed.
Special Public Prosecutor A. Limousin, representing the Central Bureau of Investigation, sought three days’ custody to confront all the accused. Which the court accepted.
CBI counsel has said that CBI has produced videocon chairman Venugopal Dhoot, former MD and CEO of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar and ICICI Bank for Deepak Kochhar 3 days custody sought in Bank-Videocon loan fraud case, which was granted by the court.
The Kochhar couple are already on CBI remand.

According to CBI sources, 71-year-old Dhoot was arrested from Mumbai on Monday.
His arrest comes three days after the arrest of former ICICI Bank MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar and her husband.
Case was registered in the year 2019 CBI made former CEO and MD of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon founder Venugopal Dhoot as accused in the case related to bank loan under the Prevention of Corruption Act registered in the year 2019 Is.
Apart from him, Deepak Kochhar-run NuPower Renewables (NRL), Supreme Energy, Videocon International Electronics Limited and Videocon Industries Limited have been accused in this case.
The CBI alleges that ICICI Bank extended credit facilities worth Rs 3,250 crore to Venugopal Dhoot’s Videocon Group of companies in violation of the Banking Regulation Act, RBI guidelines and the bank’s credit policy.
