Indian Oil Corporation ltd (IOCL) has been working hard to inaugurate a mega gas bottling plant in Budhjungnagar Industrial Area at RK Nagar in January addressing the problem of LPG Cylinder shortage. The gas bottling plant will have double the capacity of Bishalgarh gas bottling plant. The plant once is made operational, will be more than sufficient of the state’s demand for LPG cylinders. If the plan goes right, the proposed plant will be able to cater the needs of part of Assam and Bangladesh also. The work of the mega gas bottling plant at RK Nagar which is proposed to produce 200 MT gas bottling in one shift daily, is about to complete with the agencies putting in all force to meet the deadline January 2021. Rs. 169 crore has been spent for the project. Currently, the state which is having around 7.40 lakh consumers depends on the Bishalgarh gas bottling plant. Around 50 percent of the refilled LPG cylinders are being supplied from Bishalgarh gas bottling plant and rest is being supplied from IOC’s Assam plant. The production of Agartala LPG gas bottling plant would be huge in number because it is proposed to produce 200 MT in single shift. The production could be 400 MT if double shift work is done.
