India Ready To Cross LoC If Need Be: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that India is ready to cross the Line of Control (LoC) to maintain its honor and dignity.

Along with this, he also called upon the common citizens to be ready to support the soldiers in such a situation.

Citing the example of the Russia-Ukraine war, Rajnath Singh said that the war has been going on for more than a year as civilians have come forward and are taking part in the war.

Singh was speaking at the Kargil War Memorial here on the occasion of 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Earlier, by laying a wreath at the memorial, he paid tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1999 Kargil war.

“We can go to any extent to maintain the honor and dignity of the country… If it means crossing the LoC, we are ready to do that too… If we are provoked and required, we will cross the LoC,” he said.

The minister said, ‘Whenever there is a war situation, our people have always supported our jawans, but this support has been indirect. I appeal to the people to be ready to cooperate physically and mentally with the soldiers in the battlefield if needed”.
