Meeting held on international pillar of India-Bangladesh border. Delegations from both countries participated in it.
On Thursday the delegation of Bangladesh entered in the state through immigration check post at Kailasahar in Unkoti district of Tripura.
Secretary of the Ministry of Land Arif Pasha, led the delegation of seven people from the Land Survey Department of the Government of Bangladesh.
Besides, Director General of Land Abdul Barik was in this team.
On arrival at the border, they were welcomed by the Tripura government with garlands and greetings.
US Prasad, Director of Tripura Assam Sikkim of ‘Survey of India’, Shanti Debbarma, Land Director of Tripura, DCM Mangal Debbarma, represented the Unkoti district administration on behalf of the Government of India.
Officials of the border guarding forces of both the countries were also present with them.
The delegation of Bangladesh came from the border to the circuit house of Kailashahar. The pillars of Tripura-Bangladesh border areas have been damaged, and in some places the pillars have been buried under the ground.
These pillars will be re-established based on the discussions between the representatives of both the countries.
In every two years the representatives of the two countries meet to jointly discuss the issue of border survey.
After the discussion, the delegation of Bangladesh went back to their country.
