A one and a half month old baby succumbed to injury during a scuffle in an arbitration meeting.
The incident took place in Madhym Tilla area in Shantir Bazar under South Tripura District.
The child’s family members said that on November 9, an arbitration meeting was called in the village regarding a book steal incident.
As they attended the arbitration meeting, some men and women named Jamal Hossain, Khokan Miah, Sona Khatun, Supriya Begam, and Sultan Hossain attacked the child’s father Najrul Islam and Rina Akhtar.
The accused organized an attack on the child’s family when they came out of the arbitration meeting.
Later, when they came to the hospital, the doctor on duty asked to keep the child admitted in the hospital. But his family did not admitted child due to fear.
Later, the child fell into the lap of death. The family broke down in tears in the hospital.
A lot of anger has been created in the area regarding this incident.
